Accessibility statement
Plenius aims to make its editorial pages readable, navigable and usable across common devices and assistive technologies.
1. Our approach
We use semantic headings, descriptive link text, visible focus styles, readable contrast and responsive layouts. Images are given meaningful alternative text where they convey information, while decorative material is treated as such.
Accessibility is an ongoing practice rather than a one-time claim. Browser versions, assistive technologies and content changes can affect the experience, so we review representative pages during routine updates.
2. Known considerations
Some older articles or third-party embeds may not fully reflect current conventions. Long documents may also require additional keyboard navigation or zoom on smaller screens.
We prioritise issues that prevent access to core information, and we record the page, device, assistive technology and difficulty described in a report so the issue can be reproduced.
3. Alternative formats and support
If you need text in a different format, help locating an article or an explanation of an image, contact us. We will discuss a practical alternative and avoid asking for more personal information than necessary.
Requests are acknowledged within five working days. We aim to provide an initial response within 15 working days, although complex format work may require a longer timeframe explained to you.
4. Standards and testing
Our design direction is informed by WCAG 2.2 principles, UK public-sector accessibility guidance and plain-language practice. We use keyboard checks, zoom checks, heading reviews and contrast checks during updates.
5. Feedback and complaints
Send feedback to 78 High Street, Chelmsford, Essex CM1 1DE, United Kingdom, or call +44 131 496 0743. If a concern remains unresolved, explain the impact and the response you received so it can be reviewed by the editorial lead.
6. Review history
This statement was reviewed on 5 October 2026. Future revisions will record the review date and any material change to supported formats or contact arrangements.
Our approach covers structure, language, colour, focus order, keyboard operation, zoom and the treatment of images, audio and embedded material. We aim to use one clear page title, a logical heading hierarchy, labels that describe purpose and links that indicate destination. Text remains readable when enlarged, although browser settings and older content can produce differences between devices.
Image alternative text describes the useful subject or function rather than repeating a generic label. Decorative images may use an empty alternative attribute so assistive technology can move past them efficiently, while linked images describe the destination. Captions are used when context, attribution or publication details are important to understanding the page.
Reports are most useful when they include the page address, the action being attempted, the device or browser and, where relevant, the screen reader or other assistive technology. You do not need to disclose a diagnosis or other sensitive information. We aim to acknowledge an accessibility report within five working days and provide a progress update within 20 working days where a fix requires further investigation.
Where an immediate technical fix is not practical, we can offer the relevant text in a simpler format or explain how to locate the same information another way. Third-party material may remain outside our direct control, but we will pass a clear report to the provider and consider whether an alternative is appropriate. Accessibility feedback is stored only as long as needed to manage the issue, normally no longer than 12 months after closure.
